FAMLY ON A SUNDAY DRIVE

Scene 1 The stage is empty except for four chairs in the middle of the stage. The chairs are lined up in two rows side by side — they are a car, specifically a mini-van. Lights Up. All four family members enter from stage right. They're all dressed very nice in their Sunday best. Robert and Racine look tired and irritated, Racine carries a water bottle, Rory looks focused and awake, the Mother looks worried as she fusses around her children as they walk towards the car.

MOTHER Did everyone brush their teeth and put on deodorant? Racine, did you eat breakfast?

RACINE I'm fine, I have my water bottle. But, mom, do Robert and I really have to go? Why would they even want to talk to us?

MOTHER No, Racine, we were told to bring the whole family. Besides we need to all go and support your brother. We want to look like a nice family.

ROBERT He's gonna need all the help he can get, sis. We have an illusion to create, he is a wolf and we are the sheep's clothing.

Rory grabs Robert by the collar.

RORY Shut up! Don't try and be funny about this! I'm not in the mood for your little quips! You better get out of your smart ass mood! If that mouth of yours gets me in any trouble I swear I'll rip it right off your brittle jaw!
